New Art: Seeing Singapore in multiple ways.

Architecture, film, Singapore

These multiple exposures were intentional. Shot on film, I crafted the back drop, noted down the subject of the exposures and then rewound the film to reshoot, this time inspired by an idea of contrasts and juxtaposition. These photos play with our perception, confusing our eyes and mind, but we are left with multiple perspectives, rather than just one. In seeing more than one thing at one time we can juggle our assumptions. This series celebrates Singapore, organic and constructed, old and new, time ahead and time behind. It is many things simultaneously. As Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has said: ” There is a danger in the single story.” Here then, are the multiple ways of seeing.

All prints are available to purchase.
